About ApoImmune

History & Milestones

ApoImmune was founded in 2001 by Dr. Haval Shirwan, Ph.D. as a spin-off based on technology he developed at the University of Louisville. Dr. Shirwan serves as the Company's Chief Scientific Officer.

ApoImmune has two platform technologies which it is now developing and for which it has exclusive license agreements from the University of Louisville; ProtEx and ApoVax. In addition, ApoImmune has completed two license agreements with two separate pharmaceutical companies for components of its ApoVax104 and ApoFasL technologies, which management believes provides the Company freedom to practice these platforms.

Development of the ApoVax104 platform technology was started in 2005 following a Series A financing and NIH SBIR award, and is now a lead product with ApoVax104-HPV, a novel therapeutic vaccine being applied to cervical cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in women. A Phase I clinical trial for ApoVax104-HPV is expected to start in Q2 2010.

The Company has raised over $8.2 M to date through private funding and state and federal grants. A number of it significant milestones are highlighted below.
